WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As a camp trainer, you will be responsible for a group of campers, living in a cabin with them and a Chinese co-counsellor.

From getting the campers up in the mornings, to teaching camp activities throughout the day, your role is to make sure the kids have an amazing summer in a safe learning environment.

WHERE ARE THE CAMPS LOCATED?

We work with some of the best summer camps in China. From the North East to the South, China is an amazing country and each province offers something unique and individual.

CHECK OUT OUR SUMMER CAMP LOCATIONS PAGE FOR MORE DETAIL ON EACH AREA OF CHINA.

WHO WILL I BE WORKING WITH?

You'll be part of a large team of counsellors from all over the world. These countries will include England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and America, among others.

You'll be paired with a local Chinese co-counsellor - they will speak English (many of them are English students) and will be able to help with any translation issues that may arise.

CAN I TRAVEL AFTER CAMP?

Your visa lasts for 90 days from the date of entry into China. This means that you will have around 4 weeks to travel after your camp placement finishes.

CHECK OUT OUR ULTIMATE CHINA TRAVEL GUIDES FOR OUR SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO GO ONCE CAMP HAS FINISHED.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING AT CAMP?

We work with lots of different camps, so this varies depending on where you are placed. A dorm-room style cabin is the most common amongst the camps that we work with.

You'll be able to learn more about your sleeping situation during your summer camp interview, so you'll know what to expect from life at camp way before arrival.

CAN THE CHILDREN SPEAK ENGLISH?

Most campers will speak English - it's a highly valued skill in China, which is why camps love to hire international staff. Camp is a great place for campers to develop their English skills, so the campers will have varying degrees of English ability. At the very least, they will usually be able to follow at least basic instructions in English at the start of camp.

The local counsellors will also help with any language issues and can give instructions in Chinese if necessary.

DO I HAVE TO BE A STUDENT TO APPLY?

NO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A STUDENT.

You do have to be aged 18-30 by June 1st and meet our basic eligibility requirements.
