Coronavirus update

Date: 16/03/2020

Update on the Adventure China program:

On 16th March, 2020, we conducted a thorough review of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the viability of the Adventure China program for 2020. At this point, we have decided to continue the Adventure China program.

Note that we are still monitoring the situation, and that this decision is still subject to change based on the following factors:

1. The Foreign Office travel advisory against all but essential travel has been lifted

2. After the Foreign Office travel advisory has been lifted, our global head office in the UK and our local office in China have reviewed the situation and are confident of the day-to day-safety and welfare of our travellers

3. Our partner camps in China assure us that they are confident of the day-to day-safety and welfare of our travellers

It is worth noting that at this point, the Foreign Office travel advisory to China has not been lifted. However, we are confident that as the situation improves, this will be the case. The Adventure China team will resume processing applications as of this update. All current applicants will receive an email from the Adventure China team with more details regarding the program. Applicants should work on completing their profile, and await further updates.

Important update about travel to China:

Following Foreign Office advice against all but essential travel to mainland China, any departures prior to June 1, 2020 have been temporarily suspended. Departures after June 1 will remain unaffected until we issue a further update. On March 16th, 2020, we will conduct a review on whether to suspend or continue the Adventure China summer program.

The Adventure China programme will go ahead when the following 3 conditions are met:

Important: as this situation develops, these frequently asked questions may contain information that is no longer valid. We will update this page as we receive more information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
